Vardenafil is used to treat men with erectile dysfunction (sexual impotence). It belongs to a group of medicines called phosphodiesterase 5 (PDE5) inhibitors. After the penis is stroked, vardenafil maintains an erection by increasing blood flow. Without physical activity, such as that occurring during sexual intercourse, vardenafil will not cause an erection.
